Hybrid Qualified Practice Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Hybrid Qualified Practice Accountant to join a forward‑thinking chartered accountancy firm. You will work closely with the Head of Finance, delivering high‑quality accounting, tax and advisory services to a diverse client base while enjoying flexible hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex client queries and prepare high‑quality annual accounts and performance reports.
• Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Produce accurate management accounts within agreed deadlines.
• Deliver complex corporate and personal tax advice.
• Handle client issues, complaints and technical challenges confidently.
• Prepare for and manage HMRC audits and investigations.
• Work within budget to produce fully cross‑referenced files and financial statements for review.
• Support clients with bookkeeping and VAT return preparation.
• Ensure all review points are cleared promptly and professionally.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and manage day‑to‑day communication.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and assist with ad‑hoc departmental duties.

Required profile

• ACA/ACCA qualified, finalist or QBE with a practice background.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, external auditing, corporate and personal tax.
• Experience managing a client portfolio, tender writing and staff management.
• Advanced understanding of VAT, PAYE, shareholding and dividends.
