Hybrid Senior Bookkeeper

About the role

Our client, a well‑established accountancy practice, is expanding and needs an organised, proactive and flexible Senior Bookkeeper. This hybrid role offers the chance to work with a variety of clients across different sectors while supporting the finance team and delivering high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Record day‑to‑day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
• Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes and bank accounts each month.
• Monitor financial transactions and produce regular reports.
• Process accounts receivable, accounts payable and checks.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Manage sales and purchase ledgers.
• Support the Financial Director with cash‑flow forecasting, budgeting and cost‑centre analysis.
• Handle monthly payroll using accounting software.
• Liaise with Inland Revenue, banks and external auditors when required.
• Build effective working relationships across all departments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounts role, preferably within an accountancy practice.
• Strong numerical aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of spreadsheets.
