Hygiene Manager – Fixed‑Term with Permanent Potential

About the role

We are seeking a Hygiene Manager for a leading food manufacturing business in South Wales. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will lead the hygiene function on a day‑shift basis, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the hygiene team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards and maintain a safe working environment.
• Deliver and continuously improve hygiene performance through KPI achievement.
• Manage CIP systems and associated documentation for interim and deep‑cleaning activities.
• Plan labour and resources to maximise efficiency and control costs.
• Collaborate with Production, Technical, Engineering and Leadership teams.
• Maintain hygiene, food safety, technical and customer standards.
• Support team development through coaching, training and succession planning.

Required profile

• Proven hygiene leadership experience within food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and audit processes.
• Experience managing cleaning schedules and hygiene compliance.
• Excellent people‑management and communication abilities.
