About the role
The Government Legal Department is seeking an experienced Immigration Litigation Barrister to join its Home Office Immigration Division. In this hybrid knowledge‑development role you will support lawyers handling high‑profile immigration judicial review cases while fostering a culture of continuous learning and best‑practice sharing.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and update legal knowledge resources, including lead‑lawyer notes, checklists, precedents and standard documents.
- Monitor developments in immigration law and translate them into concise updates for the team.
- Organise and deliver legal training sessions, both online and in‑person, covering induction and specialist topics.
- Support lawyer onboarding and capture insight when team members depart.
- Collaborate with L&D specialists, panel law firms and internal stakeholders to design relevant training programmes.
Required profile
- Qualified barrister with substantial experience in immigration litigation and judicial review.
- Strong analytical ability to interpret legislative changes and case law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience in knowledge‑management or legal training environments is desirable.
