Immunisation Nurse Coordinator (Schools)

About the role

The School Immunisation Nurse Coordinator will lead a team of registered nurses and support staff to deliver national public health immunisation programmes for school‑aged children across Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This part‑time, permanent position is based at the Vale Centre for Health and works closely with public health, education partners and local communities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, lead and manage a multidisciplinary team delivering school immunisation programmes.
• Plan, implement and evaluate immunisation activities in line with national policy and local public‑health strategies.
• Collaborate with schools, health improvement staff, local authorities and other agencies to ensure safe and effective vaccine delivery.
• Provide supervisory oversight, including staff scheduling, performance monitoring and professional development.
• Maintain accurate records, reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Current, active NMC registration (UK pin).
• PVG Scheme membership and successful Disclosure Scotland check.
• Experience in public‑health or school‑based nursing, preferably with immunisation programmes.
• Ability to work across multiple NHS and HSCP team areas.
• Commitment to part‑time shift pattern (Mon‑Thu 08:30‑16:30, Fri 08:30‑15:00).
