Immunisation Nurse Coordinator – Schools

About the role

The School Immunisation Nurse Coordinator will lead a team of registered nurses and support staff to deliver national public‑health immunisation programmes for school‑aged children across Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This part‑time, permanent position works Monday‑Thursday 08:30‑16:30 and Friday 08:30‑15:00.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate school immunisation programmes in line with national policy and local public‑health strategy.
• Supervise and delegate work to nursing staff and healthcare support workers, ensuring compliance with local and national guidelines.
• Collaborate with education authorities, community partners and health improvement teams to ensure safe and effective vaccine delivery.
• Monitor clinical budgets, flag risks and support recruitment following NHS equal‑opportunity policies.

Required profile

• Active NMC UK pin and degree‑level nursing qualification.
• Post‑registration qualification or demonstrable advanced practice in immunisation.
• Experience with Patient Group Directions, immunisation session planning and delivery.
• Proven leadership, partnership working with schools and ability to meet challenging deadlines.

Required skills

• IT proficiency – word processing, email and internet use.
• Driving licence and ability to drive in city and countryside environments.
