Import and Export Officer

About the role

The Import and Export Officer will coordinate international shipments for a medium‑sized industrial/manufacturing organisation, ensuring compliance with trade regulations and smooth logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the import and export of goods within the logistics department.
• Prepare and process shipping and customs documentation accurately.
• Monitor shipping schedules to guarantee timely deliveries.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs authorities.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Support cost management by negotiating with logistics providers and optimising processes.
• Assist in resolving any issues or delays related to imports or exports.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of international trade and shipping regulations.
• Experience in logistics, preferably within the industrial/manufacturing sector.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication abilities for internal and external liaison.
• Proactive problem‑solving approach in a logistics context.
