Import Coordinator

About the role

Unsworth is seeking an experienced Import Coordinator to join its Manchester Operations team. You will own the end‑to‑end management of import ocean freight shipments, supporting a key customer account while working in a collaborative, technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage import ocean freight shipments from booking through to final delivery.
• Support a key account, ensuring service delivery meets customer‑specific requirements, SOPs and agreed standards.
• Coordinate with customers, overseas agents, hauliers and suppliers to ensure efficient execution.
• Arrange customs clearance and deliveries while maintaining compliance with company procedures.
• Monitor shipments, resolve operational issues and provide proactive updates to customers.
• Maintain accurate CargoWise records, documentation and financial information.
• Build strong customer relationships and aid onboarding and retention of key accounts.
• Develop a practical understanding of ocean, road and air freight to support integrated supply‑chain solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in ocean freight forwarding and end‑to‑end shipment management.
• Experience using CargoWise or a comparable transport management system.
• Excellent customer service, communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• CargoWise (or similar TMS)
