IMS Core Engineer

About the role

As an IMS Core Engineer you will join a specialist technical team delivering and supporting mission‑critical communication solutions. Working from our Reading office and customer sites you will ensure the performance, availability and reliability of IMS Core services across Core, RAN and Application layers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute functional, performance, accessibility and compatibility test strategies for all network elements and software releases.
• Perform end‑to‑end testing, deep‑dive analysis and root‑cause investigations across LTE and TETRA networks.
• Execute software upgrades, regression and lifecycle testing on VNF‑based Core nodes deployed on VMware architecture.
• Track test progress, manage defects and produce detailed test execution reports and performance logs.
• Support integration and client testing environments, providing technical analysis, logs and feedback to internal teams and third parties.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong background in IMS Core technologies, especially IMS Voice, Video and Data services.
• Hands‑on experience with IMS and VoLTE architecture, interfaces and protocols.
• Ability to work on‑call and travel to customer locations as required.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.

• VNF deployments and software lifecycle testing on VMware platforms
• 3GPP specifications and Mission Critical features
• Jira for defect tracking
