In-house PR Lead – Sustainable E‑waste Campaign

About the role

Material Focus is seeking an in‑house PR Lead to own and deliver multi‑channel public‑relations campaigns that raise national awareness of e‑waste and drive behavioural change. Working from a hybrid London base, you will lead the flagship ‘Recycle Your Electricals’ initiative and collaborate with a small, mission‑driven team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute high‑impact PR plans on time and within budget, securing placements in national print, broadcast and online media.
• Create and edit media releases, thought‑leadership articles, case studies and SEO‑optimised blog content.
• Build and maintain relationships with national newsrooms, environmental journalists and digital influencers.
• Monitor, analyse and report on PR performance to demonstrate behavioural impact.
• Identify emerging trends (e.g., FastTech, vaping) and integrate them into campaign narratives.

Required profile

• 4–5 years of professional PR experience in an agency or in‑house environment.
• Proven ability to deliver results in fast‑paced, mission‑focused settings.
• Strong analytical mindset combined with creativity and passion for sustainability.
• Excellent organisational and project‑management skills.
