Inclusive Learning Mentor – Support SEND Students

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Inclusive Learning Mentor to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in West London. Working closely with curriculum teams, learning support assistants and external professionals, you will help learners develop literacy, numeracy, communication, independence and employability skills.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support across a range of curriculum areas.
• Assist learners in developing literacy, numeracy, communication and study skills.
• Support students to achieve individual learning goals and EHCP outcomes.
• Build positive relationships that foster confidence, resilience and independence.
• Address social, emotional and behavioural needs where required.
• Facilitate access to classroom activities, enrichment, work placements and community‑based learning.
• Deliver personal care and mobility support in line with care plans and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records while promoting safeguarding, equality and wellbeing.

Required profile

• Experience supporting young people or adults with SEND, learning difficulties or additional support needs.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to motivate and engage learners with varying needs.
• Understanding of inclusive practice and person‑centred support.
• Patient, flexible and positive attitude.
