In‑Custody Careers Adviser

About the role
Seetec is looking for a dedicated In‑Custody Careers Adviser to join its Information, Advice and Guidance team at HMP Channings Wood. You will support incarcerated participants by providing tailored career advice, helping them explore learning and employment pathways as they prepare for life in the community.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one‑to‑one and group career guidance sessions within the custody setting.
- Organise and coordinate job fairs, sector‑specific talks, employer visits and motivational speakers.
- Encourage participant engagement, build confidence and break down barriers to education and work.
- Maintain accurate records of advice given and progress made by participants.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance the range of opportunities available.
Required profile
- Passionate about helping people and able to work with a diverse group.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Willingness to obtain a Level 4 CIAG qualification if not already held (support provided).
- Experience in delivering careers advice is desirable but not mandatory.
Required skills
- Level 4 CIAG (or commitment to achieve it).

- Competitive salary £26,000‑£29,545 per annum (visible for qualified candidates).
