Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (Part‑time, Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a resilient and dedicated Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to support victims of Adolescent and Child‑to‑Parent Violence (APV/CPV) across Avon & Somerset. The role is part‑time, hybrid and offers the chance to make a tangible difference in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Make initial contact with APV/CPV victims and provide immediate support.
• Conduct comprehensive impact and risk assessments.
• Prioritise high‑risk cases and deliver short‑ to medium‑term crisis intervention.
• Provide tailored advocacy, information and practical assistance.
• Develop and review individual safety plans.
• Assist victims in accessing safeguarding and support services.
• Cover the local VS Helpline as required.

Required profile

• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Good understanding of APV/CPV and domestic abuse dynamics.
• Ability to work flexibly within a hybrid, part‑time schedule.
• Resilience, adaptability and a commitment to victim empowerment.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract until 31 March 2028.
• Part‑time hours (approximately 18.75 hrs/week) with potential for additional hours if funding permits.
• Hybrid work mode – a mix of onsite and remote work.
• Salary: £13,876 – £14,791.50 per annum (pro‑rated to FTE £27,752 – £29,583).
