Independent Living Area Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Independent Living Area Manager to lead and develop high‑quality services for customers aged 55+ across a defined geographical area in Bedford. You will oversee multiple independent living schemes, ensure safe and person‑centred delivery, and manage the 24‑hour response service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop high‑performing teams across several locations.
• Maintain day‑to‑day operations of independent living schemes, ensuring consistency, quality and a strong on‑site presence.
• Oversee the 24‑hour response service, guaranteeing timely and effective incident handling.
• Drive continuous improvement using performance data and operational health indicators.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, quality and regulatory standards.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners and contribute to cross‑organisational projects.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in housing, independent living or a similar service environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to use data for decision‑making.
• Highly organised, resilient and solutions‑focused.
• Passion for delivering person‑centred services to older adults.
