Indirect Tax Senior Manager

About the role

Join a market‑leading financial services indirect tax team that advises large, complex businesses. The role involves working across VAT, customs, excise, stamp and environmental taxes to deliver practical solutions and develop both technical and consulting expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of client relationships and act as a trusted adviser on indirect tax matters.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities with existing and new clients.
• Develop and implement strategies to address complex VAT and indirect tax challenges.
• Lead delivery of large, multi‑disciplinary projects and programmes.
• Advise UK‑based businesses on domestic and international VAT issues.
• Coach, mentor and supervise junior team members.
• Contribute to the development of the team’s technical and commercial offerings.

Required profile

• Proven track record advising clients on complex VAT matters.
• Experience in the financial services sector is advantageous.
• Commercially minded with strong client relationship skills.
• Ability to win and develop business with limited senior oversight.
• Excellent communication of technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience leading client teams and developing junior colleagues.
• Strong project, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
