Industrial Automation Sales Engineer – Account Management

About the role

We are seeking a commercially driven Industrial Automation Sales Engineer to expand our automation portfolio across the East UK region. You will combine technical expertise with sales acumen to deliver PLCs, drives, sensors and robotics solutions to end‑users and OEMs.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities while nurturing existing accounts.
• Sell automation solutions including PLC systems, motion control, VSDs, sensing technologies and robotics.
• Provide technical consultation, prepare proposals and quotations, and present tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and support teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in industrial automation sales or applications engineering.
• Strong understanding of customer processes and ability to translate needs into solutions.
• Self‑motivated, target‑driven and comfortable working autonomously.
• Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent industry experience.
