Industrial Painter

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established marine engineering company for an experienced Industrial Painter. You will work on a variety of marine engineering projects, preparing and applying protective coatings to high‑quality standards in both workshop and on‑site environments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare steel surfaces by cleaning, masking, sanding and abrasive techniques.
• Apply primers, undercoats and topcoats using spray, brush and roller methods.
• Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturers’ specifications.
• Perform touch‑up work and repairs as required.
• Verify that coating thickness and quality meet specifications.
• Maintain painting equipment and keep work areas clean and safe.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
• Collaborate with fabrication and engineering teams to meet project deadlines.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Industrial Painter, Marine Painter or Protective Coatings Applicator.
• Familiarity with airless and conventional spray painting.
• Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and industrial coating systems.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and paint specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
• ICATS or similar certification is advantageous but not essential.
