Information Officer – NHS Blood and Transplant

About the role

The Information Officer will support the Information Services team that manages the UK transplant waiting lists and the UK Living Kidney Sharing Scheme. The role ensures accurate, timely data flow between transplant centres and the UK Transplant Registry, directly contributing to patient safety and successful transplants.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with transplant centre staff via telephone and email.
• Promptly support centres to return required information and monitor performance against targets.
• Trace, gather, validate and process high‑volume transplant data for entry into the UK Transplant Registry.
• Safely register transplant recipients on the registry.
• Identify procedural inefficiencies and propose improvements to enhance data quality and timeliness.

Required profile

• At least five GCSE‑level qualifications (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clinical colleagues across the UK.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
