Infrastructure Engineer – Borders & Trade

About the role
Join HMRC's Chief Digital & Information Office (CDIO) as an Infrastructure Engineer within the Borders and Trade Delivery Group. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security and cost‑effectiveness of the Borders and Trade platforms that support critical government services.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and manage Border and Trade platforms across all environments, coordinating with internal teams and third‑party suppliers.
- Track and maintain accurate data on environments and assets using agreed tooling and processes.
- Coordinate patching and security activities, ensuring compliance with timelines and standards.
- Own the management of cyber vulnerabilities and risks, prioritising and progressing resolutions with minimal business impact.
- Support the maintenance and improvement of environment and monitoring tooling in partnership with senior engineers.
Required profile
- Strong technical understanding of IT operations and platform management.
- Ability to engage with engineering teams, analyse issues and drive actions to resolution.
- Willingness to obtain SC‑level security clearance and continuous UK residency of at least five years.
