Infrastructure Engineer – Hybrid (Sheffield/London)

About the role

As an Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for the reliability, security and performance of critical technology services across cloud, hybrid and on‑premises platforms. Working closely with managed service providers and internal stakeholders you will support the delivery, optimisation and continuous improvement of our infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and enhance Windows, Linux and Azure server environments, networking and virtualisation infrastructure.
• Ensure systems remain secure, resilient and available, supporting backup and disaster‑recovery capabilities.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects, technology upgrades and the adoption of Infrastructure as Code.
• Monitor platform performance, identify optimisation opportunities and automate routine operational tasks.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root‑cause analysis and collaborate with suppliers to deliver effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and support escalated support tickets.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience across infrastructure, cloud and networking technologies.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure, networking, Windows Server) are desirable.
• Experience working in regulated or security‑focused environments.

• Salary up to £47,500 (Sheffield) or £57,500 (London) depending on experience.
