About the role

This permanent position is based at HM Prison Woodhill in Milton Keynes. The Instructor will supervise prisoners in non‑specialist workshops, providing practical knowledge and skills without delivering formal qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage prisoners during workshop activities.
• Deliver practical guidance and support in non‑specialist production areas.
• Maintain workshop safety, order and compliance with prison regulations.
• Rotate through different workshop settings as required.

• Ability to manage groups of prisoners and maintain a secure environment.
• Strong communication and leadership qualities.
• Commitment to working within a rotational, non‑operational prison setting.
