Insurance Claims Apprentice 2027

About the role

Howden, a global insurance group, is offering an 18-month Insurance Claims Apprenticeship for its Commercial & Schemes Claims team in Birmingham, starting in September 2027. You will join on a permanent role from day one, working at least four days a week in the office and living within commuting distance. No insurance experience is needed.

Key responsibilities

• Gather information from clients about their claims and support Claims Handlers and Executives
• Learn how insurance policies work and how cover is assessed for client claims
• Handle calls with clients and deliver good customer service
• Follow up with clients and insurers to keep claims moving
• Help prepare reports and analyse data

Required profile

• Full and unrestricted right to work in the UK
• Lived permanently in the UK for the last 3 years
• Grade C/4 in GCSE English and Maths
• No overlapping qualification with this apprenticeship
• Confident communicator, organised, customer-focused and able to stay calm under pressure
