Insurance Claims Handler – Supervisor & Team Leader

About the role

Our client is seeking experienced litigated claims handlers to provide leadership and support to their claims team. You will oversee a small mixed disease caseload while supervising, training and technically supporting team members to meet SLA objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and allocate workload across the team, matching tasks to individual capability.
• Provide day‑to‑day supervision and technical guidance to ensure timely, profitable case completion.
• Maintain compliance with business and client benchmarks and drive quality delivery.
• Identify learning needs and implement development activities for team members.
• Act as first point of contact for client complaints and resolve issues swiftly.
• Lead projects and process updates to improve operating practices.
• Ensure adherence to SRA standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Experience handling disease claims with a £100k authority limit.
• Technical knowledge of NIHL, disease and/or military claims.
• Proficiency in all stages of pre‑litigation and litigation for disease claims.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a project or team in the insurance/legal sector (desirable).
• Experience developing others through training and performance planning.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel) and a case/claims management system.
