Integrated Sexual Health Nurse (Fixed‑Term, Part‑Time)

About the role

This 9‑month fixed‑term, part‑time position supports Gloucestershire’s Integrated Sexual Health (ISH) service and the Pregnancy Advisory Service (PAS). The role is ideal for a B5 or B6 Sexual Health Nurse who can deliver confidential contraception and sexual health care in nurse‑led clinics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide contraception and sexual health services within ISH and PAS clinics.
• Act as an Independent Practitioner, leading junior staff and serving as Senior Nurse when required.
• Take charge of clinic operations, ensuring continuity of care and day‑to‑day service management.
• Run nurse‑led clinics, including patient assessment, diagnosis and referral to medical colleagues as needed.
• Uphold the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines.

Required profile

• Qualified B5 or B6 Sexual Health Nurse (recognised contraception qualification and sexual health experience for B6).
• Practical clinic experience and, for B6, successful completion of the University of the West of England’s Integrated Practice for Sexual and Reproductive Health.
• Ability to work independently, provide professional leadership and act as a role model.
