Interconnect Design Engineer – Test Equipment

About the role

We are seeking an Interconnect Design Engineer to support long‑term test equipment projects, primarily based in Stevenage. The role focuses on cable, harness and interconnect design using industry‑standard tools and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed cable and harness designs, including electrical topology and wiring schematics.
• Create 2D manufacturing drawings and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Manage product data and change control within Windchill or equivalent systems.
• Define and refine design processes and best practices for Visio and HarnWare.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams and external suppliers to deliver design packages.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience using Visio and HarnWare for interconnect design.
• Proven ability to lead design work packages and influence cross‑functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with military Defence Standards and D38999 connectors is highly desirable.
