Interim Accounts Payable Manager

About the role

JSS Search Limited is partnering with a leading organisation in Bristol to secure an Interim Accounts Payable Manager. This temporary position will keep the day‑to‑day AP function running smoothly while supporting a major ERP transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end Accounts Payable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and payments.
• Support the migration of AP into a new ERP system, including testing and implementation assistance.
• Ensure correct coding of supplier invoices (GL, cost centre, project) and appropriate VAT treatment.
• Manage payment runs, handling bank uploads and manual payments as required.
• Maintain and update supplier records, responding to audit queries.
• Provide regular reporting on payables, outstanding balances and supplier categorisation.
• Review and post credit‑card and expense data with accurate allocation.
• Assist with payroll‑related payments such as PAYE.
• Perform reconciliations, including petty cash and ad‑hoc analysis.
• Act as a primary contact for internal stakeholder queries across the business.

Required profile

• 5+ years of senior Accounts Payable experience.
• AAT Level 3 or 4 qualification.
• Experience working in a multi‑entity environment.
• Previous exposure to ERP or system implementations/upgrades.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Advanced Excel.
• Workday (or similar large ERP system) experience.
