Interim Additional Learning Support Manager (10‑week contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Interim Additional Learning Support Manager to lead the SEND and Additional Learning Support provision at a leading Further Education college in London for an initial 10‑week contract, with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the delivery of Additional Learning Support across the college.
• Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice, EHCP requirements and Local Authority processes.
• Oversee deployment, timetabling and management of Learning Support staff.
• Monitor learner attendance, progress, achievement, retention and progression.
• Collaborate with curriculum teams to ensure learner needs are effectively supported.
• Drive quality‑improvement initiatives and support staff development.
• Ensure annual reviews and support plans are completed to a high standard.
• Manage relationships with Local Authorities, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Support the achievement of performance, funding and budgetary targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing Additional Learning Support or SEND provision within Further Education.
• Strong understanding of EHCPs, SEND legislation and funding methodologies.
• Experience leading and developing high‑performing teams.
• Track record of improving learner outcomes and service quality.
• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant degree and/or professional qualification (desirable).
