Interim Engineering Manager – Manufacturing

About the role

This interim position offers an experienced Engineering Manager the chance to lead a manufacturing engineering team for a 3‑6 month period. It is ideal for professionals currently between contracts who want a short‑term, high‑impact role in the FMCG, food & drink, or food packaging sector.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain smooth engineering operations throughout the interim period.
• Lead the engineering and maintenance function, ensuring equipment reliability.
• Support BRC and internal audits and ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and H&S regulations.
• Deliver preventative maintenance and continuous improvement programmes.
• Manage engineering projects, capital investments and budget control.
• Support production to maximise efficiency, minimise downtime and meet operational targets.
• Develop and mentor the engineering team while driving operational excellence.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role within FMCG, food & drink, or food packaging manufacturing.
• Familiarity with BRC audits and relevant industry standards.
• HNC qualification or higher (not essential).
• Available to start on short notice.
