Interim Finance Director (Fractional, 3 days/week)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Director on a fractional basis (three days per week) for a fast‑growing SME. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own the finance function, influence strategic decisions and support the company’s expansion plans.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and execute the financial strategy to ensure long‑term success.
• Provide financial direction, planning and insight to help leadership make informed decisions.
• Improve the quality, speed and clarity of financial information for the Board.
• Develop and implement key performance indicators that drive performance across the business.
• Oversee financial reporting, cash flow management and budgeting.
• Support the leadership team with high‑level commercial insights.
• Build and develop the finance team as the company scales.

Required profile

• Qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience in an SME (under £50m revenue).
• Hands‑on, strategic thinker with a “roll‑up‑your‑sleeves” approach.
• Proven track record in fundraising, scaling businesses and financial modelling.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders.

• Daily rate of £700‑£750 (outside IR35) for a 6‑12 month fixed‑term appointment.
