Interim Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Interim Finance Manager / Company Accountant for a 2–3 month contract with a growing SME near Salisbury. The role supports the finance function during a confidential acquisition, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations while providing critical financial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day finance activities of the business.
• Support the leadership team with financial information and reporting throughout the acquisition process.
• Assist with due‑diligence requests and gather required information.
• Collaborate with external advisers and accountants as needed.
• Produce management accounts, cash‑flow statements and other finance reports.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and general financial analysis.
• Provide support to the wider business in a typical SME environment.
• Occasionally handle administrative tasks such as HR and Health & Safety.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Company Accountant or similar role.
• Experience working within an SME environment.
• Exposure to acquisitions, due‑diligence or business transactions (highly beneficial).
• Comfortable operating in a broad, hands‑on capacity.
• Ability to work independently and hit the ground running.
• Qualified, part‑qualified or qualified by experience.
