Interim Finance Systems Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Systems Lead on an interim basis for a medium‑sized not‑for‑profit organisation in the North West of England. The role will focus on maintaining and optimising financial systems to support accurate reporting and compliance while providing technical support to internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise financial systems to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and workflows.
• Provide technical support for financial software and resolve system‑related issues.
• Develop and deliver user training for financial systems and tools.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and data analysis for stakeholders.
• Support system upgrades and implementations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Monitor and enforce data integrity and security protocols.
• Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness.

Required profile

• Strong background in accounting and financial systems management within the not‑for‑profit sector.
• Qualified or proven experience implementing and maintaining accounting software solutions.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of best practices in financial compliance and data security.
