Interim Financial Accountant

About the role

The Interim Financial Accountant will support the finance department of a small not‑for‑profit organisation near Liverpool, delivering accurate financial reporting and ensuring compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial reports and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and budgets.
• Oversee reconciliations for key accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Support the year‑end audit process with documentation and analysis.
• Maintain financial records and systems.
• Provide financial insight to aid decision‑making.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes.
• Assist with ad‑hoc financial projects as required.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in accounting or finance.
• Experience in the not‑for‑profit sector or similar.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills.
