Interim Financial Controller – 3‑6 month contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a well‑established business in Carlisle for a short‑term period of change. This contract role offers the chance to lead the finance function, deliver timely financial information and make an immediate impact.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations and lead the finance team.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with accounting standards.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Liaise with auditors and external stakeholders as required.
• Provide financial insight to senior leadership and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
