Interim Financial Controller – Private Equity SME (Hybrid)

About the role

This is a 3‑6 month interim assignment for a private‑equity‑backed SME seeking a seasoned Financial Controller. You will report directly to senior leadership and own the day‑to‑day finance function while supporting commercial and operational initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end close and produce management reports.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts and manage working capital.
• Drive financial planning, budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to provide financial insight.
• Strengthen financial controls and reporting processes.
• Support the leadership team with commercial decision‑making.
• Provide stability and leadership within the finance function throughout the assignment.

Required profile

• Previous experience at Finance Manager or Financial Controller level.
• Strong SME background with the ability to work independently.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach with excellent problem‑solving skills.
• Experience in fast‑growing, change‑driven businesses; private‑equity exposure is a plus.
• Ability to quickly understand the business, build relationships and deliver value from day one.
