Interim Head of Estates Finance

About the role

This interim position leads the finance function for the Estates Division of a prestigious university. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, cost‑effective finance services and driving financial transformation across the estate portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Accountable for overall performance of the finance function within the Estates Division.
• Formulate and implement financial strategy and policy for the division.
• Lead a team of 10, including direct line management of two Finance Managers.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analytics for all estate activities.
• Collaborate with the Finance Division to prepare statutory accounts and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in a senior finance role (CFO/FD level) within university, public sector or social housing.
• Proven ability to develop and manage financial strategies effectively.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Available to start within four weeks.
