Interim Head of Financial Strategy (London)

About the role

This interim position offers a senior finance professional the chance to shape financial planning for a leading higher‑education institution in central London. Working closely with the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will drive strategy during a critical student recruitment and enrolment period.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial planning and oversight for the annual student recruitment and enrolment cycle.
• Develop and maintain robust tuition‑fee income forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Deliver scenario modelling and financial analysis to support executive‑level decision making.
• Partner with strategic planning colleagues to align student‑number planning with medium‑term financial objectives.
• Build medium‑term planning assumptions that support sustainable financial performance.
• Collaborate across finance and the wider organisation to ensure financial implications are understood and managed.
• Produce high‑quality reports, briefing papers and presentations for senior leadership and governance committees.

Required profile

• Significant experience in financial strategy, planning and forecasting within a large, complex organisation.
• Proven ability to operate at executive level and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong track record of translating detailed financial information into clear, actionable insights.
• Experience in higher‑education finance or similar sector is advantageous.
