Interim HR Manager (potential permanent)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, proactive Interim HR Manager to support a fast‑growing organisation in Milton Keynes. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will act as a trusted advisor and coach to managers, delivering hands‑on HR support across the employee lifecycle. The role is highly visible and may become permanent for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert HR advice across the full employee lifecycle.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment, selection and onboarding processes.
• Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability and absence cases.
• Support employee wellbeing, sickness absence management and reasonable adjustments.
• Advise managers on employment law, HR policies and best practice.
• Coach and develop managers to build confident, high‑performing teams.
• Drive employee engagement and culture initiatives.
• Identify and implement improvements to HR processes, systems and ways of working.

Required profile

• Confident, approachable HR professional able to build credibility quickly.
• Practical, organised and resilient with strong commercial awareness.
• Enjoys problem‑solving, influencing decisions and supporting managers.
• Open to HR Advisors stepping into their first manager role or experienced managers seeking a new challenge.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
