Interim HRA Project Lead

About the role

The client, a local authority in London, is seeking an Interim HRA Project Lead to support the finance function for a six‑month period. You will work closely with the Head of Finance and senior directors to ensure the council’s financial strategy and housing capital programmes are delivered effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the council’s financial strategy requirements are met.
• Deputise for the Head of Finance and deliver professional finance services to the housing service area.
• Support the creation and monitoring of the 30‑year HRA Business Plan.
• Provide strategic, corporate and departmental financial planning and budgeting.
• Lead the housing capital programme monitoring and capital financing.
• Collaborate with directors and heads of service to embed finance in decision‑making.
• Evaluate legislative and policy changes and assess financial impact.

Required profile

• CCAB or CIMA qualified with post‑qualification finance/accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Extensive HRA (Housing, Revenue, Accounts) experience in a local authority.
• Strategic financial business planning experience within local government.
• Immediately available for work.

What we offer

• 6‑month fixed‑term contract.
• £650 per day rate.
