Interim Management Accountant (3-month contract)

About the role

Our client is looking for an Interim Management Accountant to join the finance team for a three‑month period. The role will support core finance activities, with a particular focus on balance‑sheet reconciliations, month‑end reporting and the preparation of management accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
• Maintain detailed balance‑sheet reconciliations across multiple accounts and resolve reconciling items.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Produce variance analysis and management reporting to aid financial decision‑making.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and audit requests.
• Collaborate with finance and operational stakeholders to ensure data accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls and finance processes, leveraging AI tools where appropriate.

Required profile

• Demonstrable experience preparing monthly management accounts.
• Strong balance‑sheet reconciliation experience, including complex historic items.
• Excellent understanding of month‑end accounting processes.
• Effective communication and collaborative skills.
• Comfortable using AI‑enabled tools to improve productivity.
