Interim Management Accountant (6-month contract)

About the role

Accountable Recruitment is partnering with a well‑established organisation in Liverpool to hire an experienced Management Accountant on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. Working in a hybrid model, you will support key stakeholders, deliver accurate financial reporting and provide business‑partnering insight during a period of change.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and related financial reports.
• Prepare and post monthly journals, including accruals, pre‑payments and depreciation.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and business‑planning processes.
• Analyse financial performance, investigate variances and provide commentary.
• Develop KPI reporting and management dashboards.
• Assist with financial modelling, costings and business case preparation.
• Prepare recharges, invoices and ad‑hoc financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate records, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Provide financial support to projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Assist the Financial Controller with key deliverables and stakeholder requests.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant (essential).
• Previous experience in a Management Accountant role.
• Strong month‑end accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Excellent analytical ability and clear communication of financial information.
• Proven stakeholder management and business‑partnering capabilities.
