Interim Management Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant for a six‑month interim assignment supporting the finance function of an established organisation in Poole. The role is hands‑on, delivering accurate management information, insightful analysis and process improvements to drive business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and support month‑end close processes.
• Produce accurate financial reporting and management information.
• Provide financial analysis, commentary and insight to aid business decisions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis activities.
• Review and improve finance processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop and enhance reporting tools, dashboards and KPI information.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand financial performance and requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting outputs.
• Deliver ad‑hoc financial analysis and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Management Accountant in a commercial finance environment.
• Strong month‑end, reporting and financial analysis expertise.
• Excellent Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and analyse data.
• High attention to detail and ability to interpret and communicate financial information.
• Self‑starter who can hit the ground running in an interim capacity.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools such as Power BI is advantageous.
