Interim Management Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an Interim Management Accountant to join a supportive finance team in North London on a three‑month contract. Reporting to a senior finance member, you will partner with Finance Business Partners to deliver accurate month‑end accounts and provide insightful financial analysis to stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, pre‑payments and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure a smooth, accurate, and timely month‑end close process.
• Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to support financial analysis and reporting for operational teams.
• Produce variance analysis and commentary against budget and forecast.
• Respond to stakeholder financial queries with clear information.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a management accounting or assistant management accountant role with similar duties.
• Strong understanding of month‑end processes and management reporting.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with non‑finance stakeholders.
• Good analytical ability to investigate and explain financial variances.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
