Interim Management Accountant – Materials (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Interim Management Accountant to join a fast‑paced food manufacturing business on a temporary basis. The role will support the finance team by delivering accurate stock, costing and operational reporting while working closely with operational stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and analyse daily production and standard costing reports.
• Investigate and explain material variances between actual and expected costs.
• Review inventory movements and financial transactions within the accounting system.
• Reconcile financial and operational data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor stock levels, identify risks of obsolete inventory and support effective stock control.
• Communicate quantity and value variance findings to operational stakeholders.
• Attend regular meetings with Operational Leads to discuss performance and improvement opportunities.
• Deliver financial reporting and analysis to support business decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes, reporting and financial controls.
• Utilise Power BI and other reporting tools to analyse and present data.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Management Accountant.
• Experience in food manufacturing or a stock‑intensive environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and stakeholder management skills.
• Logical, methodical and process‑driven approach.
