Interim Payroll Manager (ADP) – 3‑Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Payroll Manager to take full ownership of the end‑to‑end payroll function for a business in Teddington. This hands‑on, three‑month contract follows a recent ADP system migration and requires immediate availability to ensure accurate, compliant payroll delivery during a period of transition.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for the entire employee population using ADP.
• Manage starters, leavers, salary changes and benefits amendments.
• Maintain compliance with PAYE, NIC, pension auto‑enrolment and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.).
• Reconcile payroll reports, resolve discrepancies and produce month‑end journals for finance.
• Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries from employees and managers.
• Liaise with HR and Finance to ensure accurate data flow.
• Support year‑end processes such as P60s and P11Ds.
• Identify process improvements and flag risk areas.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or senior Payroll Specialist.
• Strong hands‑on experience running payroll through ADP.
• Solid knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
• Immediately available or able to start on short notice.
• Comfortable working independently in a lean payroll function.
