Interim Payroll Manager – Part‑time (2 days/week)

About the role

We are seeking an Interim Payroll Manager to join a well‑established Cornwall‑based organisation on a part‑time, temporary basis. Working two days a week from our Launceston office, you will lead the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely payments for roughly 250 employees while maintaining high service standards and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for approximately 250 employees
• Handle payroll amendments, including starters, leavers and changes
• Maintain employee records and payroll data
• Process statutory payments and deductions
• Liaise with employees and managers on payroll queries
• Support pension administration and related payroll processes
• Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
• Assist with payroll reporting and reconciliation activities
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency

Required profile

• Proven end‑to‑end payroll experience
• Ability to manage payroll processes with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Independent working style with a proactive approach
