Interim Payroll Specialist – Fixed Term

About the role

This interim position supports a major HR and payroll transformation for a FTSE 250 recruitment group. You will ensure payroll continuity, compliance and service excellence while the organisation moves from local processes and ADP iHCM to SAP SuccessFactors.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate end‑to‑end payroll processing for UK employees.
• Validate payroll inputs and outputs, handling new starters, leavers, salary changes, variable payments, benefits, deductions and pension contributions.
• Calculate and process statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP and ShPP.
• Investigate and resolve payroll queries promptly.
• Support payroll reconciliations, controls and audit readiness.
• Assist with payroll stabilisation during the SAP SuccessFactors implementation, working with HR and project teams to resolve payroll‑impacting issues.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
• Experience processing payroll in a high‑volume environment.
• Ability to work under pressure during system transitions.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
