Interim Procurement Manager – Category Development

About the role

This interim position will lead the creation of a new Customer Services procurement category for a medium‑size not‑for‑profit organisation in London. You will shape the category from scratch, establishing strategy, governance and a contract register.

Key responsibilities

• Scope and develop the end‑to‑end Customer Services procurement category.
• Map current and future service requirements and engage key internal stakeholders.
• Analyse spend, map supply markets and identify procurement opportunities.
• Create and maintain a contract register and governance framework.
• Develop category strategies, sourcing approaches and commercial recommendations.
• Provide market insights on supplier capabilities and trends.
• Lay the groundwork for a permanent procurement function in this area.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement category management within complex organisations.
• Track record of establishing new procurement categories or functions from the ground up.
• Strong stakeholder management and analytical capabilities.
• Experience with spend analysis, contract registers and category strategy development.
• Ability to work autonomously and drive projects to completion.
• MCIPS or equivalent procurement qualification is desirable.
