Interim Procurement Manager – Transformation

About the role

We are looking for an Interim Procurement Transformation Manager to lead the creation and embedding of category management within a public‑sector organisation. This short‑term role will help shift the procurement function from reactive buying to a strategic, category‑led approach.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of category management across the organisation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define, build and embed category strategies.
• Structure and categorise spend, generating category knowledge and insight.
• Develop and introduce templates, tools and best‑practice frameworks for category management.
• Educate and support stakeholders on the purpose and application of category management.
• Support the handover of category management activities into business‑as‑usual ownership, ensuring sustainability.

Required profile

• Strong experience in category management and strategic sourcing.
• Proven ability to deliver procurement transformation and embed change.
• Confident in engaging, educating and influencing stakeholders at various levels.
• Experience developing category strategies, frameworks and ways of working.
• Hands‑on, delivery‑focused mindset.

What we offer
