Interim Procurement Specialist – Public Sector Defence

About the role

You will join a large public‑sector organisation that supports critical national infrastructure and defence programmes across the UK. Working in a highly regulated, security‑focused environment, you will help deliver value through robust procurement and strategic sourcing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full‑cycle sourcing and tendering in line with PA23 and public procurement regulations.
• Manage both high‑value contracts and fast‑track procurement exercises.
• Oversee supplier performance, service delivery, KPIs and risk mitigation.
• Use CP&F/CPNS systems to control financials and ensure commercial governance.
• Support multiple defence‑related buying categories, from goods and services to specialist equipment and medical support.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of hands‑on sourcing experience, leading tenders and commercial processes.
• Experience in defence, secure operations or other highly regulated environments.
• Security Clearance (SC) must be active.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with engineers, operational teams and senior decision‑makers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CP&F/CPNS procurement systems.
