Interim Project Accountant

About the role

Cedar is seeking an Interim Project Accountant to join a fast‑growing, entrepreneurial finance team in central London. This six‑month contract offers exposure to project due diligence, budgeting, forecasting and finance transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Finance with project due diligence, investment appraisals and post‑investment reviews.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and re‑forecasting across a multi‑entity portfolio.
• Produce variance analysis, highlighting key drivers, trends and opportunities.
• Develop commercially focused reporting to aid business decision‑making.
• Support rollout of a new FP&A reporting tool and analyse trading performance, costs, margins and operational efficiency.
• Help develop and review financial controls, policies and governance frameworks.
• Provide statutory reporting, reconciliations and audit support as needed.

Required profile

• Formal accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong technical accounting experience in industry‑based roles.
• Multi‑entity and multi‑site accounting experience.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Excellent analytical skills with a commercial mindset.
• Immediate availability or ability to start on short notice.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with complex BI tools and large data sets.

What we offer

• Day rate of £400‑£450.
• Six‑month contract with potential for extension.
• Central London office, onsite 3‑4 days per week.
